Position Summary

The Content Creator for Thrift Out is responsible for bringing the brand to life through engaging and trend-forward social media content.

This role will focus heavily on creating short-form video content designed to grow and engage audiences across TikTok and Instagram, with a particular emphasis on expanding the Thrift Out TikTok presence.

The Content Creator will capture the fun, energy, and incredible value of the Thrift Out shopping experience through creative and relatable content. This includes developing on-trend video concepts, filming content in-store, editing short-form videos, writing captions, creating story content, and staying up to date with emerging social media trends and platform features.

This is a hybrid role that combines in-store content creation with remote work such as editing, planning, scheduling, and posting content.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Create engaging social media content for Thrift Out’s TikTok, Instagram and Facebook platforms representing the brand’s vision and mission.
  • Flexible schedule with availability to cover occasional evenings or weekends during events.
  • Develop creative ideas for images, short-form videos, stories etc for all platforms.
  • Stay current on social media trends, audio, features, and platform updates and creatively apply them to Thrift Out’s content.
  • Capture content regularly at Thrift Out including product, team, customers, volunteers, and store experiences.
  • Cover any key events we may have like anniversary celebrations, stamping events, and other in-store happenings.
  • Film, edit, and produce high-quality Images, TikToks, Reels, and Stories using tools such as CapCut, VSCO, Instagram editing tools, native TikTok tools, or similar platforms.
  • Write engaging captions that align with Thrift Out’s brand voice and encourage community interaction and engagement.
  • Create Instagram Stories that provide daily connection points with the Thrift Out community.
  • Collaborate closely with the Social Media Lead to execute content strategy and campaign initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage content assignments and timelines through the Asana project management system and or Basecamp.
  • Upload, and maintain photo and video libraries in Dropbox.
  • Build relationships with store team members and volunteers to help them feel comfortable participating in content.
  • Confidently direct team members, volunteers, or customers when capturing photos and videos.
  • Maintain visual and brand consistency across all content.

Qualifications

  • Strong alignment with and commitment to the PB414 mission, vision, core values, and statement of faith.
  • Experience with Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills and an eye for style, aesthetics, and brand alignment.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to generate fresh content ideas consistently.
  • Comfortable being on camera and serving as a recognizable voice and presence for the brand.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to organize and cover multiple projects at once
  • Ability to receive feedback, adapt quickly, and collaborate within a creative team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Basic photo and video editing skills (CapCut, VSCO, Instagram Reels tools, etc.).
  • Flexible schedule with availability to cover occasional evenings or weekends during events.
